Mission

Our Values

As a third-generation Louisianan, Arlen Benny Cenac Jr. takes great pride in everything that makes his state so great. Now the owner of Golden Ranch Farms, Mr. Cenac is taking proactive measures to ensure the economy, culture, and natural wonders of Southeastern Louisiana are maintained for generations to come.

Benny Cenac espouses the values of conservation and respect for the land. He believes that taking care of the land is one of the most important things we can do to make the world a better place for our children and their children.

All activities at or of Golden Ranch Farms are tethered to Benny Cenac’s core values: community, family, conservation, and tradition. For over 200 years, the Ranch has enjoyed ongoing sugarcane production and welcomed families and members of the neighboring parishes to hunt Louisiana game and fish that call the 50,000 acres home. Benny Cenac recognizes the environmental and historical implications that this pristine land has and is engaged in practices and conservation efforts to ensure this refuge be self-sustaining for generations to come. Benny Cenac is particularly proud to have assisted in a world-wide effort to save the American alligator from the endangered species list and has since shifted his focus to wetlands restoration and coastal erosion.

Organizations We Support

Benny Cenac has devoted much of his time and energy to supporting various local, national, and international conservation and environmental efforts, including: The Louisiana Wildlife Federation, Inc. Ducks Unlimited, CCA Louisiana, and Hope for Animals.

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation, Inc. is the leading organization of sportsmen and conservationists in the state, representing hunters, anglers, campers, birders, boaters, and other outdoor-oriented individuals.

Ducks Unlimited declares themselves the “world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation” as wetlands and other habitats are eroded across the United States.

CCA Louisiana was founded in 1983 to conserve Louisiana’s vast marine resources.

Hope for Animals is a no-kill shelter that seeks to save and improve the quality of life for as many stray and homeless animals in the Lafourche Parish-area.
