A continued slump in the Bayou Region’s oilfield economy has hit many local communities hard, and Gheens – a vest-pocket enclave wedged between La. 308 and the banks of the old Company Canal – has been no different.

Benny Cenac, CEO of Cenac Marine Services and owner of Golden Ranch Farms recently partnered with 4:13 Outdoor Ministries to make a young man’s dreams come true.

As a third-generation Louisianan, Arlen Benny Cenac Jr. takes great pride in everything that makes his state so great. The smell of the wetlands and freshwater in the morning, the singing of migrating birds traveling the Atlantic Flyway, the diverse ecosystem of salt marshes, coastal prairies and maritime wetlands and the blend of diverse cultures all come together to form a beautiful, sylvan and exotic state.
